Getting Started
Last updated October 25, 2026.
Welcome! Here's what happens when you start hosting your website with Osmond Technologies, LLC, and what we'll need from you.
1. Choose Your Plan
We'll help you pick the plan that fits: Standard Hosting if you just need a reliable home for your website, or Managed Services if you want us to keep it updated, backed up, and checked for you. See Pricing & Service Plans.
2. Tell Us Who to Contact
We'll ask for:
- your administrative contact, the person we'll work with on your website, domain, and support
- your billing contact, the person who receives invoices, if it's someone different
- anyone else who's allowed to make decisions about your website and domain
We only take requests for big changes, like password resets or moving your domain, from these people. See Account Access & Passwords.
3. We Set Up Your Hosting Account
When your account is ready, we'll send you your account details by email: your control panel username and password, the address you use to log in, and a few technical details. Save that email. It's the only copy, and we can't look your password up later, only reset it.
4. Your Domain
- Need a new domain? We'll register it for you. Domains are $30 per year, including privacy protection and a transfer lock. See Domain Names.
- Already have one? You can move it into our care, or keep it where it is. If you keep it, we'll tell you exactly which settings to change, or change them for you with your permission.
5. Moving an Existing Website
If you already have a website somewhere else, we'll copy it to our server and check that it works before switching your domain over. You may need to give us a login to your current website or host so we can make the copy.
Once your domain is switched, it can take up to 48 hours for every computer and phone on the internet to see the change. During that time, some visitors may still see your old host. That's normal.
6. Email
Email can stay where it is, run on our server, or use a service like Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. Each option is explained in our Email Policy. If you're moving a website, tell us how your email works today, so nothing gets interrupted.
7. Paid Plugins and Themes
If your website uses any paid plugins or themes, let us know and send us the license keys you have. Without an active license, they can't receive security updates. See our Third-Party Software & Plugins Policy.
8. Your First Invoice
Hosting is billed once a year, in advance, by email through PayPal. See Billing & Payments.
9. After You're Live
Your website is backed up and checked automatically every night. If you ever need anything, see How to Get Help.
